i was present on the 13th October 2012 and was there for about 3 hours.
during these 3 hours, the bird was happy with the grasshoppers which were left on the branch and came back serval times. i was personally not responsible for the feeding, however, i am certain that no pins were used during this time as the grasshopper kept on jumping off the stump.
without flaming and agreeing with this practice, .. how is this different to europeans/austrlians/americans putting bread or leftovers on bird tables in the back garden?
i believe that during these few hours, the bird was not harmed in any way, ..
