Good collection of shorebirds at high tide today (13 Sep) on the scrape and on the newly created rice field ponds at the eastern end of the scrape. Mike Kilburn & I had 25 species, including:

Asian Dowitcher 1
Eurasian Curlew c 150
Eastern Curlew 1
Great Knot 41
Red Knot 3
Dunlin 3
Kentish Plover 3

Also, some Red-necked Stints & Broad-billed Sandpipers.

Swans at Mai Po, 21 Nov

News has come out that two swans were seen in Deep Bay from the new hide at about 5:15 pm today.

They were too distant to be identified to species.

No further information available.
