It is a complicated ecological question

It depends on several factors, e.g. Food delivery and the rank of the chick. Parents usually feed the first hatched chick
first and then the second, and then the third. The brightness of yellow gape is the key factor for parents to choose which one is fed in some bird species. Usually the brightest one get the priority.
