Both birds are first winters but your photos are not clear enough for positive id. The distant bird appears to be a Black-tailed Gull based on its smaller body size, smaller head and slender bill. The near bird is one of the large white-headed gulls [Heuglin's/Yellow-legged/Vega]. Its flat-headed appearance, long primary projection and all dark tertials suggest it is probably a Heuglin's Gull.
