Long-tailed Shrike? Please help ID

Hi mkitwah

This looks to me like a Grey-backed Shrike, a potential first record for Hong Kong. If so this is a very exciting record!

Do you have any moe pix or information about how to go to the site?

The identity seems to be clear but Paul Leader and Geoff Carey have noted that the bird is missing all its greater coverts, and this raises at least the possibility of its being an escape as birds in captivity oftenperform strange moults due to the stress of confinement.

Here are the directions Dave Diskin mentioned:

Fa Sum Hang can be reached by both driving and public transportation. By driving, you shall drive along Kwong Sin Street (Siu Lek Yuen, Shatin) and then Hang Shin Link (adjacent to Hang Seng School of Commerce). There are some roadside space at the end of Hang Shin Link for parking.

For public transporation, you may take KMB 82X, 83X, 82M, 82S, 281A, 49X, 83K and 86.
