Daurian Redstart 北紅尾鴝

A very pleasant viewing for several reasons:
a. gentle side lighting creating a very obvious three dimensional effect on the redstart;
b. just right exposure that makes it possible for details in the shadow and the highlight area to be discernable;
c. razor sharp focusing on the eye in which was accompanied a pin-point glare; and
d. a very serene and pleasing bokeh that further adds to the success of the shot as a whole.

Knowing the limitation the Leica 800mm has on Canon 20D, I do have to say that you really have put the use of this lens to its limit. Have not seen this lens thus far but it must be a very smart lens, not to mention its optical quality. Keep up with the good work and many thanks for sharing the fruit of your field work here in this portal.
Nearly has forgotten to say that the one at the bottom is just terrific. So substantial in details and so well defined for the glare from the eye.
