Thanks for your report.  BTW, I think you meant Shing Mun and its Northern part leading to Lead Mine Pass instead of western?  Western part of Shing Mun is the water collecting area of Tai Shing Stream which is a very popular stream trekking route in HK.  The terrain is much more rugged for birdwatching if one doesn't follow the contoured foot path.
