Dr. Lee Ki-sup of Waterbird Network in Korea inform me that eight young Black-faced Spoonbills were fitted with colour rings by a joint-effort of Korean and Japanese researchers in this summer. Details of the colour rings are as follows:

Right leg / Left leg
GWR/K81
K82/GWY
K83/GWB
K84/GWG
K85/WRY
K86/WRB
K87/WRG
K88/WRW

All K81 to K82 colour rings are in red colour.
G = Green, W = White, B = Blue, Y = Yellow, R = Red.

All sighting reports of ringed Black-faced Spoonbill are welcome. Members are encouraged to post information in this BBS, or send PM or email to me or the society.

This ringed BFS should be one of the few born in Russia. The bird was ringed at Far East region of Russia on 15 Jul 2007.
