It might be the "打醮" (sorry don’t know how to translate) in every three years, possible 15th day after Chinese new year for 4 days (正月十正至十八); March 5th  to 8th 2015
I checked with the Opera schedule back in 2009 and 2012, http://www.hkhikers.com/Opera%20Performance%202014.htm
It is highly likely.

Very quite Saturday, very few peple and birds
Only one male Daurian redstart possitively identified near the ferry.
There were bird calls heard in the upper primary school, helipad (now with bamboo scaffold) and near sister's cafe, but I dont have any cue.
