a short review of these colour-ringed BFS.
Blue-White-Blue (left): it might be a bird ringed at Tainan, Taiwan on 22 Dec 1997, but it lost one white ring on left leg. Another possibility is K67 (also with Blue-White-Blue on right leg) but K67 was also recently reported in Mai Po and the red ring K67 is still on the leg.
Blue-White-Yellow (left), K66 (right): This bird was ringed on 17 Jun 2007 in the nest at South Korea. It also came to Hong Kong last winter.
Green (left), Green (right): This bird was ringed at South Korea on 18 Jul 2005. It was seen in Hong Kong in the following winter. Then it was found at Liaoning on May 2006 and Jun 2007. It also came back to HK last winter.
Green-Yellow-Red (left), K73(right): This bird was ringed at South Korea on 2 Aug 2007 and it also came back HK last winter.
A?? (right - probably 34): The long green ring is used for the birds caught in Hong Kong. A27 to A39 were not received any colour rings on right legs because they were fitted with radio-transmitters and they were ringed on 5 Dec 2002. This bird could be one of these birds but it could also be other birds which lost the colour rings.
White-Red-Green (left), A39 (right): This is the bird found injured by swallowing a fish hook last winter (Jan 2008). This was treated at KFBG and recovered so well and then released in Feb 2008. It was so nice to see the bird is now in good health and return to HK!!
