Black Scoter at Mai Po : 09 Dec 2007
On Pond #20e this morning there was a Black Scoter in amongst the flock of Tufted Duck, a first for Hong Kong. Initially it was considered a possible female/juv. Red-Crested Pochard, but several bird surveyors helping out with the Society’s waterbird count positively identified it as a Scoter.
Hendrix took many photos from the temporary canvas hide and hopefully he will post up a few on the BBS this evening.
