Cycling in LV

A group of cyclist, about 30 people, men and women, cycling around Long Valley this afternoon.
I said to them, "this area is private property, show some respect!"
One answered, "We just want to enjoy the beautiful scenery here."

Why does cycling 'not show respect'?

Why is it less respectful than a large group of birders and photographers at a bird?
