Boat Trip on Saturday 17th May
I would like to arrange another boat trip for this coming Saturday.
Although last weekend's trips were not very successful, it's only by doing regular trips that we'll be able to see good birds. The fact is that, for HK, 3 or 4 out of every 5 may not produce very much.
Anyway, given the weather is now hot, I propose that we go straight to Po Toi and do some birding there. Then, about midday we leave to look for seabirds to the west and south of Po Toi, perhaps returning to Sai Wan Ho.
We also plan to try 'chumming', which involves attempting to lure seabirds to the boat using smelly fish oil . For more information: http://neseabirds.com/chum.htm
If you're interested, please let me know as soon as possible. Start time is 8am in Sai Wan Ho. Return is 4.30pm, but we'll decide where on the day. The cost is $4200 for the boat, and so I hope we can get 20-25 people at least to make it a reasonable price.
