Hi there

I have been told that the 1st picture is a brown shrike and not a grey-headed shrike, please can someone confirm this?

I believe the 2nd photo is more of a brown shrike than the 1st ...

is this a female, because there is no pattern on the chest .. quite different from the brown shrikes i have seen before..

Bull-headed shrike has a bigger head and orbicular bill, the bull-headed shrike in the photo is a female.

There is pattern on the chest for juvenile brown shrike.

Both are Brown Shrike. The first is greyer because it is an adult male lucionensis (which have a grey crown).

The second is not Bull-headed - the combination of black mask and brown back including crown/nape are right for Brown Shrike.
