Eurasian Starling

Eurasian Starling

Lut Chau, 15.11.12, with thanks to the finder for passing this on. Canon 1D4, 800/5.6, 1.4x converter. f8, 1/400, ISO800. Minor crop with wires cloned out from the bottom left hand corner. No health warning on this one since the bird is on a "naturally" occurring perch and the bird was feeding on accidentally spilt fish food. Of course fish food that's been lying around for some time may actually be much more harmful to a bird than the much maligned mealworms commonly used by some photographers, but I guess we don't need to worry about that since it's "natural". The by now infamous green Suzuki was used as a mobile hide, and, guess what, was completely ignored by the bird.

A late photo, but still wonderful.
Well done, Martin.
I am just an inexperienced birder/ birdwatcher/ twitcher/ photographer with no long lens.

Thanks lchunfal. It's late but as I'm sure you realize I'm trying to illustrate a few points with the shots that I'm posting.
