Tai Po Kau 大埔滘






A female Hainan Blue Flycatcher with a ring on its right leg. Is any research in Tai Po Kau?
I am sorry for the poor photo quality that cannot show the ring clearly.

Thank you very much to your post and the photos. There is a regular research programme conducted at Tai Po Kau and this female Hainan Blue Flycatcher is assumed to be one of the birds ringed by the research programme. It is rather unlucky that the ring number cannot be read. All re-sightings of the ringed individuals can tell us how the bird live in the Tai Po Kau area. Would you mind to tell where the bird was photographed?

Hi Yat-tung Yu,

The ringed Hainan Blue Flycatcher was seen near the "U-turn" of blue walk. On the map you can find "V" shape on blue walk. Near the "U turn", there are two metal bar across the river, I saw these ringed flycatcher there,

Hi Leo2012,

Thanks for your reply. The bird was ringed in the summer of 2015 and it is good to know the bird returning to TPK this year.
