Common Snipe, not Fantail Snipe
Just a note to say that here and elsewhere on this forum the name 'Fantail Snipe' is being used. While this is a direct translation of the Chinese name, and is the old name used in HK, it is not the English name we now use. This is 'Common Snipe'.
While there are problems with this name (it's not the commonest snipe in the early autumn, for example), it is the name currently in use. Please let's use it.
