Nikon V1 + 10-30mm Zoom Lens + Swarovski 80 HD STM and 30x-eyepiece.
Jan 20, 01, 2012am.
Some information for reference:
1. ISO 100 for the heron and common kingfisher shots and 200 for the white-breasted.
2. Shutter release using Nikon's wireless controller ML-L3. Real-time release is capable with V1 this time as compared to the one in, for example, Nikon CP8400, where a time lap of 2 sec exists. A real fun with such an enhancement.
3. Manual zooming is another big fun with V1, not only saving electricity but also enhancing the swiftness and pinpoint accuracy of framing.
4. I have not tried shooting at a higher ISO but at 200, noises are minimal. I think at 400, V1 stands a good chance to provide decent images with little noises.
5. Focusing is fast and accurate, a performance, in my opinion, renowned in almost all the Nikon's cameras I have used, namely D700, D200, CP8400, P5100.
6. White balance control is appealing.
7. The RAW file is not openable in my version of PhotoShop, the CS4. The same also happens with the version of NX2 I have. I use the accompanying software of the kit set to open the file, retouch images and convert them to the tif 16-bit files for further processing in my CS4.
Re. 7, would be grateful if forum members share the version of PS and NX2 that can directly open and retouch the V1 raw files.
Here are a few images for sharing purposes. A word about the weather for today: dull and overcast with occasional drizzles.
1. The closer, the better; a golden rule in digiscoping. It does away the effect from the particulate matters in the air.
