The 2012 WWF Big Bird Race will take place on Saturday 11 February. This annual event raises around HK$1,000,000 for wetland conservation work at the Reserve and is therefore important to our management of the gei wai and ponds for waterbirds.
In order to facilitate the race and ensure public safety we need to close off some floating bird-watching hides on that Saturday. Please refer to the map below. Two hides will be closed for use by BBR particpants only, the other two will remain open to the public. If you intend to visit the mudflat on that day please only use the two public hides.
