Thanks Tony.... just wondering if is a 1st winter female..... although they are common, I have never seen one before.

I think I am right in saying that  all of the recorded Turdus thrushes in HK  will not have pale tips to the coverts in adult plumage except Chinese Thrush.(Note this is not true for Zootheras or Rock Thrushes.)From your fab picture , the greater coverts appear pale tipped in keeping with your suggestion that this is a first winter bird.

Hasn't been back since..... but hoping.
So far over the last week have photographed 8 different Thrushes in my garden.. although on Tuesday think I had a 'fall-out" and have no idea how many landed in my pond that day. Feeling quite honoured.

Japanese Thrush (Male & Female)
Grey-backed Thrush (Male & Female)
Blue-whistling Thrush
Daurian Redstart (Female)
Red-flanked Bluetail (Female)
Blackbirds
Rufous-tailed Robin
