2 male and 1 female Greater Painted Snipe were spotted in #257 which is HKBWS managed wet agricultural land planted with paddy rice.

另外還有2隻雄性和1隻雌性彩鷸在香港觀鳥會管理的濕耕農地出現, 這塊農地現在種植了稻米。

As David reported above, snipes have returned to LV. Number of Wood Sandpiper starts increasing also.
2 Pintail/Swinhoe Snipes were found on shallow water habitat managed by HKBWS.
In early August, a large-scale weed removal work was finished. Egrets, herons and sandpipers were attracted to this area. We are investigating the changes of bird assemblage in this area and also the time period of this effect.

我查過香港及華南鳥類，但是沒有頭緒是什麼鶉
那塊田的路我來回都走過，去的時候是沒有，返回才有的，時間相隔多於1小時
那塊田是有水的，看起來是淺水，種有菜(大概是…)，田邊有一些九層塔那類的香草，而菜的高度大約20-30cm
同時有一隻池鷺在的，但我不為意繼續行過去，那鶉就從菜田裡飛出來。牠背著我飛，只知道是棕色、細而肥胖的鳥，其他看不清楚…太突然…飛行時是蠻貼地的
我知道牠大約停的位置，就在魚塘附近的田，不過天氣不太好，擔心會落雨所以就沒有去查證是什麼鶉。

希望有觀鳥者能找到牠吧!

此類小型鶉類，經常潛入厚厚的植被中，的確是極度難觀察的。
不過妳有幸看到，已是很有緣的。
