On Tuesday at around noon, I was seawatching on Po Toi when a Needletail flew in off the sea. The wind was around Force 6 just after the passage of Typhoon Ketsana. Here are 4 photos plus enlargements



This bird did not have the pale silvery back which I have seen on previous Silver-backed and White-throated Needletail, the back was more brown although slightly paler than the rest of the body.

It's clearly not a White-throated - is it Silver-backed?
