Maintenance of hide supports 維修觀鳥屋底部支柱
Dear Birdwatchers/Photographers,
Most of the existing bird-watching hides surrounding gei wai #16/#17 and gei wai #11 were constructed in the mid 1980s and have faired well considering. However many of the galvanized steel foot supports are in need of replacement due to corrosion so this summer repairs will be carried out at hides #1, #3, #5, #7 and #8.
Contractors will work during specified periods when the majority of waders are out feeding on the Deep Bay intertidal mudflat. The maintenance period of each hide varies and depends on the location and number of supports that need to be repaired. Hide #7, the first to be repaired, will be temporarily closed from 24 – 28 August. Further notice of the maintenance period for other hides will be posted in due course.

位於基圍16/17號及11號的觀鳥屋大部份建於八十年代中。整間木製的觀鳥屋架空於地面上，觀鳥屋底部連接數個鍍鋅的軛，埋於基圍壆裡。二十年過去，連接混凝土鐵罐的柱由於柱身簿，所以出現損壞。損壞了的支柱需要盡快維修。維修工程將於今年夏天進行，1號、3號、5號、7號及8號觀鳥屋均需要維修。
外判承辦商將會在指定時間內進行維修，亦即是大部份水鳥在泥灘覓食時進行工作。每間觀鳥屋維修時間有異，維修時間長短跟觀鳥屋位置及需要維修的支柱數目有關。7號觀鳥屋將會是第一間進行維修工程，此觀鳥屋將於8月24日至28日暫停開放。至於其他觀鳥屋的維修時間表，將容後公佈。
