6 of these in the garden today & perhaps a further 3 immature...... will wait for a positive ID before I post an image of the young ones.
Not as sharp as I would like coz of the very slow shutter speed & using a different tripod & head.....

Oriental Turtle Dove.

Note the heavy 'scalloping' on the wings and back (feathers with dark centres and pale edging), and the stripey neck patch.

S'ok, is the name used in "Birds of HK & S.China" 6th Edition 1994" - probably an "old name" - is shown as Streptopelia orientalis - meaning I guess "Oriental Turtle Dove" - I'll amend the subject title

I think the official name is now Oriental Turtle Dove but you're right, Rufous Turtle Dove appears in all the older texts.

At the risk of making another enormous public gaffe, this looks more like a immature Spotted Dove to me - I think an Oriental (Rufous) Turtle Dove would be more scalloped on the wings and back and would show some white on the tail tips.

Was it definitely in the company of Orientals?

Maybe it's me.....
Earlier image was taken about 20 mins after all the OTD's had left.
The bird pictured above then arrived with another 2 immature, and I assumed it was the same one..... ..... they all looked like the earlier one.
Up to this time no adult spotted doves had been at the scene.

The image below is of the dove that was in amongst the original 6 OTD's..... they all seemed to get along ok....... no white tail tips on this one.

Will post an image in a few moments of another immature dove that turned up later...., which is not one of the 4 previously sighted "immatures", and I assumed was an immature spotted

Earlier images seem to have more scalloping..., just not so defined.
Having said that......... I'd go with "Spotted".
