Unfortunately there is not enough of the ring visible on this bird to identify the individual. The ring number starts with N291... The last three digits of the ring are not visible, which would allow us to recognise the bird. Ten Olive-backed pipits have been ringed in Hong Kong with this ring combination, five of them at Mai Po.
It is possible to say, however, that this bird was not ringed this winter. Therefore it must have made the long migration to the breeding grounds and back at least once since being ringed.
