This Grey Heron caught a very large fish. Why did it drop the fish, a hint is in the top righthand corner of the picture.

Amazing capture of the whole swallowing process as well as the display of feathers by the heron to scare the eagle away.
Must be having great fun putting the 400mm onto a video camera.

The Grey Heron psyching itself up for the "big swallow" is a bit like weightlifters as they prepare for the "big lift".

Seems like the kite didn't want to get into the water for the dropped fish..
