Spent two weeks in Namibia for wildlife watching in Nov 2011. Itinerary as follows: Namib Desert – Walvis Bay – Erongo Mountains – Etosha National Park – Waterberg National Park.
One week in Etosha National Park in which two nights were spent in each of their three camps at Okaukuejo, Halali and Namutoni. All the roads inside the park are in excellent condition and it’s good for self-drive. Pictures were taken either around the camp sites or inside the car in the park as visitors must stay in the car outside the lodging areas. Share with you some pictures taken in Etosha National Park:

Crested Francolin – very lucky to see this pair while leaving the park

Grey-go-away-bird – many of them around Namutoni camp
Red-backed Shrike – saw this bird almost every 100 meters in the eastern side of the park
Burchell’s Sandgrouse – they came to the waterhole to drink but only stayed for 2 seconds and flew

Southern White-faced Owl – a pair roosted in Halali camp
African Scops Owl – it roosted at the entrance of the park ignoring all the visitors

Kori Bustard – the heaviest flying bird on earth. Very lucky to see over 200 Kori Bustard in one morning
