This intermediate egret consolidated at every step walking down the ditch on the mudflat at Maipo in the afternoon of November 19th.  Sudddenly he launched his bill to reach the bottom of the weed to catch an arthropod.  His elongated neck acts like an arrow sprang from a bow.
