本年的鷺林普查月份已過了一半，找到了約700個鳥巢，情况比2008年的660個好一些。鷺鳥研究小組會繼續餘下的普查工作。

另外，小組成員亦於本年五月在深圳大鵬灣核電廠確定了一個大型鷺林(>100個鳥巢)的位置。

About 700 nests of egrets and herons were counted in Apr and May 2009. A little bit better than 660 nests in 2008.  The Egret Research Group will continue the count in June and July.

BTW, a nesting site of over 100 nests at the Daya Bay nuclear plant was found in May 2009.
