Closure of 3 floating hides : Sunday 07 Feb 2010

Closure of 3 floating hides : Sunday 07 Feb 2010

The WWF Big Bird Race will take place this Sunday (07 February). This annual event raises around HK$1,000,000 for wetland conservation work at the Reserve and as such is important to ensure we can continue to manage the gei wai and ponds for waterbirds.

In order to facilitate the race and ensure public safety we need to close off some floating bird-watching hides on Sunday. Please refer to the map below. Two hides will be closed for use by BBR particpants only, the other two will remain open to the public. If you intend to visit the mudflat on Sunday please only use the two public hides

Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause, but we hope you understand our reasoning.

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Thanks,

Please note the above posting shows a new arrangement for hide usage on Sunday.

This Sunday  is one day a year when HKBWS members are focused on helping to raise funds for Mai Po.

Could all members who are NOT taking part in the Bird Race please give precedence to teams that are participating in the race, whichever hide you are in.

Many thanks for your co-operation and understanding!
