Shaan Xi Yang County 陝西洋縣

Shaan Xi Yang County  陝西洋縣 7/8-13/8

Birding in Shaan Xi for around 5 days , more than 100 species were seen and around half of them are my new ticks.
This is an unforgettable trip , I am glad that I could watch the crested ibis and crested kingfisher with my dear friends.
I would like to thank Cherry , Amy , Eliza and Koel for organising this wonderful trip.
I hope we can go to Nepel together in the coming future

Dear Jonathan,

The photos I took are almost the same

The owl was found by our driver , he said there was a Buzzard near a stream.
At first , we thought that was an Eagle Owl ( it was sleeping on a big tree ), however , after checking a field guide in an inn where we stayed , we concluded that it was an Tawny Fish Owl
We did not stay overnight there , so we couldn't see  / hear the bird again.
Let me attach two photos taken by my mobile. I hope these might help you.

Dear Jonathan,
The altitude is above 1700m. At night , I do expect it stands on stone and wait for a fish ^^
Hope you can find one in Hunan !!

Mike ,
there is a spot where some conservators feed them every day for an hour
We could find around 20-30 monkeys there. After feeding time , they climb up a hill and all disappeared
I forget the exact location ( I was sleeping in the car ..ha ) , but it seems near Tai Pak Shan

They are very cute !

Cheers
