[Outing] 17/10/2010 蒲台及南面水域觀鳥活動 Po Toi and HK South Waters outing

I'm not sure you will have any better luck with seabirds this year. I've only seen a single Red-necked Phalarope since 16th September.

Having said that, if you do see something it might be a star bird.

I think in future it would be better to arrange the seabird trip in September rather than October, when Aleutian Terns and other species should be around. October/November are the lowest months for seabirds.

As an alternative to spending too much time at sea, I suggest a walk through the South Peninsular grasslands. Depending on the amount of Chung Yueng activity, this should deliver Blue Rock Thrush and Zitting Cisticola plus the possibility of other grassland specialists like quails and certain warblers.

The walk can be a circular route around Ngong Chong on the upper path to the lighthouse and then the lower path back to the start. Altogether it should take about 90 minutes including reaching there via the path leading out from the sister's cafe at the top of the concrete steps near the ferry pier
