This looks to me like a female/immature White-tailed Robin - congratulations!

White-tailed Robin is one of the species which has generally been considered an escape, but a female bird in December just after a cold front must have as good a chance of any of being accepted as a wild bird.

I think White-tailed Robin always shows white on the uppertail which would be visible in the first photo if present.

I suggest that this could be a female/juvenile Blue-fronted Robin.

Mike, Brendank,

Thanks for your reply!

Here is another photo:

Yes, clearly some white in the tail although the amount and position on that retrix seems a bit off to me. Compare with:

Perhaps this is just the variability among individuals.

I had a look at a few pix of female White-tailed on Google Images - I was surprised at the variability of the amount of white visible in the tail.

Female Blue-fronted Robins seem to be less contrasting between back and tail - and it is an extremely rare bird everywhere in its range

To me looks very good for female White-tailed Robin, presumably s a first winter bird due to the brighter spot at the end of the inner greater covert, that female adult wont show.
The white patch on the tail depending on the tail position can be easily hidden.
Good find...
