Mount Davis -autumn 2013

Mount Davis Wednesday 6th November – a good day.

An overflying migrant Oriental Honey Buzzard at the Youth Hostel was chased off by Black Kites

Later a Japanese Sparrowhawk at the top, a Dark-sided Flycatcher and two Tristram’s Buntings on the way down. The photos of the Tristram’s Buntings failed but I did get one of the flycatcher

Mount Davis - 13th November

In the drizzle, at the top, a single Brambling and at least seven Olive-backed Pipits

The Brambling was making a very distinctive call which I have heard before on Po Toi

Also two Black-winged Cuckoo-shrike.
Wintering flocks of Chinese Bulbul can now be seen here and elsewhere, and numbers of Japanese White-eye have also increased considerably this week.
