0n 26/2/2014, found this one around the big BBQ area on the Bride's Pool Road.  Could not get another shots since it flew away as soon as it saw us.

Thanks in advance

I believe its a Common Green Magpie, not a common sight in HK but I think it's been spotted in the past. An escape I will most definitely think, but a very nice looking bird that I will love to see too.

Thanks Matthew.  It was excited to spot this.

Common Green Magpie is not on the Hong Kong Category III List - at least, I can't find it.

I will submit this for review by the Records Committee. I guess it will be Cat III but it doesn't breed too far from Hong Kong.
Anyway, a great looking bird and another good record from the tomatofamily.

I think Bride's Pool is a favoured spot for releases of captive birds.  I saw literally a van load of birds released there a few years ago.  Zebra Doves, Bearded Tits and many other species.

I would still be very pleased to find a Green Magpie though regardless!
