rock thrush?

rock thrush?

I wonder if anyone can help to ID this mystery bird which has been hanging around for a few weeks in the village on Lamma. Apologies for images, heavily cropped and in poor light - it always seems to appear at dusk.  I thought of a rock thrush, but there is no blue colour, just what seems to be a brownish wash around the head.  Flicks tail often

Would this be a young bird?  There does not seem to be any blueish colour at all, only brown

Looks like a female Blue Rock Thrush. Females are generally brown. The scaly pattern on the underparts and the blue tinge seen on some females would probably be hard to make out in poor light.

Great - solves the mystery.  Thanks John and Mike for your input
