Sunbird and the ivory coral tree

Sunbird and the ivory coral tree

A lady fork-tailed sunbird perched on an ivory coral tree in the afternoon of March 19th at Taipokou.  It pressed its head inward to the scarlet long tubular petals to pull out a tiny thread and swallowed it whole.  The ivory coral tree provides every necessity to the sunbird.

The bird must be too hungry and ate its own tongue.
