Gei wai #11, #12 & #13 road repairs : Sept 2007

Gei wai #11, #12 & #13 road repairs : Sept 2007

Dear Birdwatchers,

Over the coming 3-4 weeks the Highways Department will be carrying out essential repair and structural reinforcement work on the road sections beside gei wai #11, #12 and #13.

Gei wai #11 will be partially drained tomorrow (12th September) to allow works to commence. This unfortunately means the opposite end of the gei wai (near Hide no. 8) will not function as a high tide roost for migratory birds.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. A further posting will be made once the work is finished and water-levels returned to normal (hopefully next week).

If you need any further information please contact Janet Lee (3193-7502) at the Mai Po office.

The Highways Department is still working along the road sections, but gei wai #11 is now back to normal and operating as a high tide roost.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
