Congratulations -  the first record for Hong Kong!

These are very difficult to seperate from Black-headed Bunting, which is a rare bird itself.

This one has no "ghost" hood which Black-headed often shows (The place where the head will become black in summer plumage) and no streaking on the crown.

If any one sees this bird in the next few days please call Birdline and post the sighting right away - many people would love to see it!

I understand that the location is the fishponds on the left of the Mai Po Access Road as you approach Mai Po.

Cheers

Mike
The location is correct.

I am thrilled to know that I hit my jackpot for this.

Good luck to everyone looking for this bird in near future.  The bird is not shy as I can walked slowly approaching her.
