Oriental Reed Warbler.

Large size, long graduated tail with whitish tips, white supercilium and streaked throat.

The original poster is of the opinion that the bird has an eye-stripe that deviate from the Oriental Reed Warbler and the ear coverts is of different color too. Are these observations of any importance in identifying the bird?

(I am just helping to relay the question.   )

The eye-stripe and ear coverts look fairly normal for Oriental Reed Warbler to me. The ear coverts appear the same colour as the crown and back (the colour on the photo is not very good). The fact that it has an eye-stripe eliminates the only other serious possibility, a Thick-billed Warbler. The whitish tips to the tail and the streaked throat are distinctive of Oriental Reed Warbler.

Also Oriental Reed Warblers pass through Po Toi in May and would be expected at this date.
