Sponsored Walk at Mai Po : 26 Oct & 02 Nov 2008
Dear Society members,
This is to inform you that WWF will hold their regular annual sponsored walk around Mai Po on Sunday 26 October and Sunday 02 November. More information about this year’s event, called the ‘Walk 4 Nature’, will be posted on the WWF website in early October. Along with the Big Bird Race, ‘Walk 4 Nature’ event is one of the major fundraising events for Mai Po and WWF Hong Kong.
During this event, the participants will walk from the main car park to the Education Centre, along the footpath between
gei wai #18/19, then along the Closed Area Fence and back to the car park. Along the route, WWF will station staff and volunteers at a number of points, such as the Tower Hide, Hide 5 and Hide 7, to explain to participants about the ecology and importance of Mai Po. In this way, we hope that we can raise greater awareness and support for the conservation of the Reserve amongst the general public.
