[Oversea] Tawny Owl - UK Somerset

Tawny Owl - UK Somerset

Yesterday night while walking back to school from our local pub, I heard some noisy bird calls in the Oak Trees near our main school entrance. I went to investigate and found a family of Tawny Owls, with 2 chicks crying for food. As it was very dark, I thought I will go back in the morning to have a look. I went back there the next day and there they were, on top of the oak tree. I spent the next half an hour looking for the adult, it is amazing how camouflage they can be!! I must have walked past it at least 10 times before spotting it!! Glad to see this happy family in our school!!

Here are some more photos from today at dusk, it took me another good 20 minutes to relocate it behind the leaves today!!  I just managed an hour of good views before the adult flew away to hunt at around 9:15pm.

It's day roost of today
