I managed to find recently a copy of the "revised edition 1966 - An annotated check-list of the birds of Hong Kong". I don't know whether this is easy to find but I had not seen it before.

Inside it is signed S H Griffiths, Hong Kong 1967.  Does this name ring any bells with any long-term HK birders?

Out of interest I looked up Platalea minor (Black-faced spoonbill) and the most notable count was30 in April 1966.
