Whether 鳽 should read as '堅','軒' '亨'或'煎', we await expert advice.
As HKBWS has been looked upon as a knowledge organisation, consistency and party line is important. Unless there is some strong rationale behind, we should always standardize the pronunciation. We may demonstrate our expertise role by telling others that the word can be pronunced as '堅','軒' '亨'或'煎'. We HKBWS would prefer to adopt say '軒'as our official pronunciation in order to avoid confusion and enhance communication among members.
We HKBWS love the organisation so much because we can always enjoy the academic freedom to express our views as far as they are genuine and for the well being of bird watching. I personally support the suggestion to set up an official channel to collect feedback regarding the photo guide. It would help save readers from using the forum for lengthy discussion.
We trust the committee can make intelligent decision on what kind of improvement suggestions can be considered for our next issue of photo guide. Continuous improvement has always been a motto in birders' hearts.
