Strange colouration on Black-Crowned Night Heron

Guy has already posted a photo of this interestingly coloured Night Heron on Lamma, so I thought I would post the three generations that hang around together and who we assume are related. The middle bird looks like this seasons and the last one we suspect is 3rd season going into adult plumage but the orange legs look a bit strange and he hasn't changed in months. Can anyone confirm if this is normal colour. Neil.
