Another good morning, with overnight rain and NE winds providing good conditions for finding migrants.  All the flycatchers were seen close to the archway below the temple, while most of the warblers were seen between the middle and top falls.

Arctic Warbler - 6
Pale-legged Leaf Warbler - 2
Eastern Crowned Warbler - 1

Asian Paradise Flycatcher - 1
Hainan Blue Flycatcher - 1 male
Yellow-rumped Flycatcher - 1
Asian Brown Flycatcher - 1

also at least 15 Hong Kong Cascade Frogs at middle falls and a Chinese Mountain Snake seen also.

Cheers

This morning was quieter, although an Asian Paradise Flycatcher was on the wire outside my house with a newly caught dragonfly - I was surprised it could take prey that was so big!

Also 2 Arctic and 1 Pale-legged Leaf warbler

A little later 5 Crested Serpent Eagles, a Black Kite, 3 Besra, 2 Crested Goshawks and best of all an Oriental Honey Buzzard were over the village between 0930 and 1030.

Yesterday evening a Juvenile Dollarbird was seen on a tree at the edge of the village. Last year I had an autumn high count of 14 on 21 September, so check out the overhead wires if you around NTC in the next week or so.

Another Chinese Mountain Snake was seen also.

Cheers

This morning was rather quiet except for one each of Asian Brown Flycatcher, Sooty Flycatcher (my first for the autumn), an Arctic Warbler, and a flock of about 15 Striated Yuhina.

A rather quiet morning at Ng Tung Chai, until a female Siberian Thrush, a Mountain Bulbul, and an Arctic Warbler were found on the path above the lower falls.

This is the same area where 2 Siberian Thrushes were seen in April this year.

Mountian Bulbul has not been seen in NTC for a few months, so it was nice to record one again

Lower down a Lesser Shortwing sang once and Pygmy Wren Babler could be heard down close to the river.

Cheers

A new Ng Tung Chai record for me this morning -

Two Ashy Drongos of the white-cheeked race leucogenys from 0700 - 0720.  Both birds flew off in different directions.

This morning there was Verditer Flycatcher seen on the trees in the village at around 0900am.

Yesterday a Crested Serpent Eagle was sat on the big square boulder on the ridge for a couple of hours - too far for pix but truly majestic!
