A quieter morning in Ng Tung Chai, but Tristram's Bunting was a new record for the winter:
Village:
Verditer Flycatcher - 1f
Daurian Redstart - 2
Scarlet Minivet - 2
Kestrel - 1
Forest:
Black-winged Cuckooshrike - f
LesserShortwing - 1 singing
Red-flanked Bluetail - 4
Grey-backed Thrush - 1
Blyth's Leaf Wabler - 1
Pallas' Leaf Warbler - 4
Mountain Bush Warbler - 1
Asian Stubtail - 3
Maountain Tailorbird - 1 seen + 3 h
Grey-headed Flycatcher - 3
White-browed Fantail - 1
Tristram's Bunting - 1f
Also a full circuit in the afternoon up and over the top falls produced the first Manchurian Bush Warbler of the winter.

This morning at Ng Tung Chai the following bids were seen between 0830 and 1130. All were seen in the forest:
Lesser Shortwing - 1h
Red-tailed Robin - 1
Grey-backed Thrush - 2
Pallas' Warbler - 4
Goodson's Warbler - 1
Bianchi's Warbler - 1
Mountain Bush Warbler - 1
Mountain Tailorbird - 4
The Bianchi's was was interesting as it had no wingbar.

This morning the following birds were seen between the top falls and the village between 0800 and 1200. All of the good birds were below the lower falls.

Red-tailed Robin - 1
Red-flanked Bluetail - 3
Goodson's Leaf Warbler - 1
Blyth's Leaf Warbler - 1
"Bianchi's" Warbler - 1
Pallas' Leaf Warbler - 4
YBW - 2
Asian Stubtail - 1h
Mountain Tailorbird - 1 h
Grey-headed Flycatcher - 1
Verditer - 1

The following birds were noted at Ng Tung Chai on 1st and 2nd Jan. Al were seen between the lower falls and the village. The area below the temple has been the most productive in the last couple of days.
Besra 1 on 2nd
Crested Goshawk 1 juv on 2nd
Lesser Shortwing 1 heard on 1st
Red-flanked Bluetail - 3 on both days
Daurian Redstart - m+f on 1st, m on 2nd
Red-tailed Robin - one on both days
Pygmy Wren Babbler - 1 h on both days
Blyth's Leaf Warbler - 2 on 2nd
Greenish Warbler - 1 on 1st
Pallas' Warbler - 2 on both days
YBW - 2 on both days
Asian Stubtail - 1 on 1st, 3 on 2nd
Mountain Bush Warbler - 1 h on both days
Mountain Tailorbird - 3-4 heard both days
Grey-headed Flycatcher - 1 on both days
Verditer f on 1st
Hair-crested Drongo - 2 on 1st
Tristram's Bunting - 4 on 2nd

Yellow-bellied Warbler - 1 heard on approach road on 1st

add some species on 1st
two Mountain Bulbul near lower fall
one more Rufous-tailed Robin and Mountain Bush Warbler near the top fall
that all ...

after a long gap a good morning in Ng Tung Chai, but only Japanese Thrush new for the winter:

Japanese Thrush - 1 male
Pale Thrush - 1
Blue Whistling Thrush - 1
Red-tailed Robin - 1
Bianchi's Warbler - 1
Asian Stubtail - 2
Mountain Tailorbrd - 5 (inc 1 seen)
Grey-headed Flycatcher - 2
White-throated Fantail - 1
Tristram's Bunting - 1 female
