MY first year birdwatching report A TO Z 我的首年觀鳥報告

2005年4月, 在香港公園的一隻黑臉噪眉開始了我的觀鳥生活, 擴闊了我這個城市人的眼界。以前我們叫所有鳥兒為'鳥兒', 鷹是鳥兒, 畫眉是鳥兒。現在不同了, 除了認識牠們的名字外, 更開始想多了解牠們的生活特性, 想多聽牠們的歌聲, 因此我參加了觀鳥會, 鳥會舉辦的活動、各位師兄師姐在BBS上的靚相及經驗、鳥會的網站內容對我這個� s手來說都是一個一個的啟蒙。創立鳥會的前輩為我們奠下了基石, 各位師兄師姐為我們一點一滴的累積, 百匯成河! 開展了香港人觀鳥的生活。生活, 對我而言, 觀鳥不是一種技能, 不是一種嗜好, 而是一種生活, 對大自然的投入大了, 人變得開朗了, 當然口袋變得缺水了。  希望我們的下一代可以享受這份美好的生活。
一年過去了, 現在認識了部份的鳥兒, 希望與大家分享, 沒有技巧, 沒有好的器材, 只是獻上一份對大自然的好奇及讚歎。
寄望來年能走更多更遠的地方, 認識更多更美的鳥兒, 如果能添更好更正的器材就更好..... HAPPY BIRDING

香港的冬候鳥，並非本港居民。入水捕魚的能力極強，在十月尾起，我在南生圍常 見牠們棲身在樹上，而且數目驚人。
唐代詩人杜甫詩云：「家家養烏鬼，頓頓食黃魚。」烏鬼即是鸕鷀。在中國 和日本的水鄉，不少漁民都有飼養牠們，幫助捕魚。他們在鸕鷀的頸上縛了 一根繩子, 當它們跳到河裡用口抓到魚後, 再把鸕鷀撈回上船, 因為頸上的繩子收窄了食道空間, 魚不能吞下去, 只需輕輕用力撐開它們的嘴巴, 魚就自動掉出來。我想問大家：如果你明明吃到香噴噴的雞腿，咬在嘴裏，但被迫 完完全全吐出來，你會有何感受？
鸕鷀的體型比大白鷺還要大，記得我在南生圍及大生圍初次與牠們碰面時， 頭上突然出現一群黑色轟炸機，把我怕得半死。牠們愛群體生活，我很少見到牠們 單獨行動，但是牠們的合群是很誇張的，成千上萬似的掛在樹上，成群成群地在空 中飛，亦由於牠們的合群，所以魚塘每年都會損失不菲，礙於政府已立例管制不可 傷害牠們，塘主真是只有啞子吃黃蓮，有苦自己知。與南生圍一位塘主閒談時，他 表示早已習慣了，這種樂天知命的性格真教我佩服。更跨張的是冬天來到時，過千 隻鸕鷀站在樹上撒雀糞,把整個樹林也染白了，真是不敢恭維！
鸕鷀通常在海灣、湖沼、池塘或河川生活。牠們常潛入水面下1至3米處覓食 ，潛水時間可達30至40秒。有人曾告訴我，牠們竟可潛至達9米深處，達一分鐘之� [。我平時潛水頂多是30秒，真是慚愧。牠們在水中捕魚後浮出水面嚥食，所以我� 戔`可看見牠們的食相，真厲害！
