The first part of AFCD's HK Biodiversity database is now online. Information on over 4,000 species of plants and animals in Hong Kong is available at http://www.hkbiodiversity.net. The database would be completed by the end of this year, when the first biodiversity map for Hong Kong would be published.
首階段全港生態資料上網
【本報訊】（記者 羅敬文）漁農自然護理署展開的全港生態調查計劃， 首階段「香港生物多樣性網頁」已正式上網，記錄全港逾4,000種本地動植物生 態資料。至於詳細分析數據的生態資料庫將於本年底全面完成，屆時本港首幅全港 生 態地圖 即將誕生，既讓市民了解生態熱點，也為當局擬定保育地點，作為參考。
政府在2002年起展開全港生態調查計劃，蒐集生態基線資料，期望在2005年底前分階段建立全面生態資料庫。消息人士指出，首階段「香港生物多樣性網頁」工作已經完成，已將逾4,000種本地動植物的基本資料上載互聯網（http://www.hkbiodiversity.net），讓市民了解保育狀況、本地及全球分布和照片。
