跟隨我多年的「雞雞」雙筒望遠鏡,因日子久遠,塑膠位已熔化得不可忍受,要買 新雙筒望遠鏡了 Any suggestion? lecia, zeiss, swarovski or something else? my budget is no more than $7000 or, any cheaper option? My foots have great problem, which make me can't go birding 2 years. I went Long Valley have a hour birding yesterday which it's my limit. I don't know my foots whether will be recover in coming years. So I'm doubt in investing on birding (upgrade a good binocular ).

Hi Sophia, I highly recommend the Lecia 8x32 to you. Its good balance in price ($5,600~$6,000), weight, quality & durability makes it as the first choice for a lady birder. The 10x42 is too heavy for a lady. http://www.hkbws.org.hk/board/messages/3082.html Other than walking a long period for chasing birds, you can still enjoy birding just sitting at parks or inside the hides at Mai Po, getting boat to watch tern or black kites watching at the mid-level, etc. I believe our members can tell you more good birding spots without too much walking. Therefore, don't feel doubt in buying yourself a new binocular lah. A good binocular can accompany with you for many years. Wishing you get well soon and could join the Records 202 in Jan 2004. Regards Forrest

How about Leica 8 x 32? Don't choose Leica 8 x 42 as it is as heavy as the 10 x 42 and too heavy for you. New Binocular + Birder + Christmas Holiday = + + many good records & ticks
